Terms of Use

These are the plain-language terms for using EconLaunch. Using the site means you accept them. For how your data is handled, see the Privacy page.

Last updated: July 30, 2026.

What EconLaunch is

EconLaunch is a free tool that gathers publicly posted job openings relevant to economics, policy, finance, and data careers into one place, and offers optional tools (application tracking, a career profile, saved searches) to help you manage a job search. It is an independent project, not an employer, recruiter, or hiring agency, and it is not involved in any application, interview, or hiring decision between you and an organization.

Using the site responsibly

You agree to use EconLaunch lawfully and not to:

Accounts

An account is optional and free. If you create one, keep your sign-in details secure — you're responsible for activity under your account. Accounts used abusively or in breach of these terms may be suspended or removed. You can delete your own data at any time (see the Privacy page).

Job listings are provided “as is”

Job listings are aggregated automatically from third-party sources (government and employer career sites) and are provided for convenience, as is. EconLaunch doesn't control that content and can't guarantee it's accurate, complete, current, or still open — a posting may change or be taken down at its source at any time. Always confirm the details on the original posting before relying on or applying to it. The link to the original posting is the authoritative source, not EconLaunch's copy.

Mentoring

Mentoring is informal, peer-to-peer guidance to help with a job search. It is not certified career counselling, and not legal, financial, immigration, or other professional advice. It's help and perspective, not a guarantee of a job, an interview, or any particular outcome. There are two ways to book, both handled through Cal.com:

Rescheduling and cancellation. You can reschedule or cancel a paid session free of charge up to 24 hours before its start time, for a full refund. Within 24 hours of the start time, or if you don't show up, the session fee isn't refundable, since the time was reserved for you. If the mentor cancels, can't make it, or a genuine technical problem prevents the session, you get a full refund or a reschedule, your choice. For any refund question, email econlaunch@gmail.com.

Third-party links and services

The site links out to third-party sites (job postings, employer pages) and relies on third-party services (see the Privacy page for the list). Those sites and services have their own terms and privacy practices, which EconLaunch doesn't control and isn't responsible for.

No warranty

EconLaunch is a free, best-effort project provided without warranties of any kind. It may have outages, bugs, or gaps in coverage, and it isn't guaranteed to be available, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.

Limits

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator isn't responsible for losses arising from your use of the site, from reliance on aggregated job listings, or from third-party content or services reached through it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable law that can't be waived.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the “last updated” date above changes with them, and the current version always lives on this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the province in Canada where the operator is based, and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Nothing here takes away consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your own province that can't be waived.
