How job matching works

• Match indicators are computed entirely in your browser from your career profile and the fields available on each posting — nothing about you is sent anywhere.
• Seven factors are checked when data allows: target field/category, preferred province, language requirement, employment type, whether your listed skills appear in the posting text, required certifications, education level, and years of experience. Deadline urgency is shown separately.
• The education level, years of experience, and certification checks compare against annotations this project's own scrapers added offline using Google's Gemini API (reading only the public posting text, never anything about you) — see Data sources. Everything else is a direct, deterministic comparison with no AI involved.
• Work authorization isn't checked — postings don't reliably list it in a structured way, so guessing would be misleading rather than helpful.
• "Insufficient information" means too little could be compared, not that you're ineligible. Always read the full posting before deciding whether to apply — a match label is a starting point, not a verdict.
